Detailed Review of Wink Connected Home Hub
With the Wink Connected Home Hub, all smart products of your home could be connected and maintained by one simple application. The wireless Wink HUB allows the easy control of multiple collections of smart home products. The setup is easy and the same is the handling.
The Non-technical user might find it difficult initially but once connected the usage is as simple as picking a piece of cake. No worries of any additional cost once the app is set and you can control your home from any distance with no hassle.
The Wink Hub supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth LE, Z-wave, ZigBee, Lutron ClearConnect, Kidde. The app is compatible with a minimum iOS 8 and Android 4.0. The free app is also available in the Google Store for the ease of users.
This app has made it possible to get connected to all smart products and communicate with each other as well. The wonderful thing about this app is that you can have multiple user access to control the smart products, keeping you as the master owner account. All you need is the power and internet. Wink needs a Wi-Fi bandwidth of 20 MBs per month.
Key Features of Wink Connected Home
There is no limitation of the smart products that could be controlled by the Wink app. The detailed step-by-step instructions can help you to connect the certified smart products. The Wink app has a feature called “geofencing” which allows Aros and other products to turn on automatically when you get close to home and shut off when you leave.
Since this feature uses the GPS on your phone to tell your products when to turn on, it uses more battery. If your phone battery is low or you wish to conserve battery usage, turn off geofencing for smart schedules for a better battery management.
A mesh network works by allowing products to pass communications from one product to another which means that the HUB can pass on the communications to one product that passes the same on to another product. This type of network enables greater range. Any non-battery operated Z-Wave or ZigBee device will allow this functionality.
